Beverly Miller Obituary

Beverly Joyce Miller

Beverly Joyce Miller, 90, of Star, Idaho, died Saturday, May 13, 2023, at a local Meridian, Idaho hospital from acute myeloid leukemia.

She was born June 1, 1932, in Findlay, to Glen and Reba Hall. She married Jack William Miller, also of Findlay, on Nov. 24, 1951, at Fort Benning, Georgia, while Jack was serving in U.S. Army. Beverly and Jack were married 62 years and Jack preceded Beverly in death in 2013.

Beverly is survived by two sons, Roy W. Miller II (wife, Nancy) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Ron G. Miller of Hillsboro, Oregon; daughter, Marcia Miller Kakiuchi (partner Marc Widing) of Star, Idaho; and grandchildren, Brian H. Miller of Hillsboro, Oregon, Rachel Aichele of Oak Harbor, Washington, Holly Miller of Portland, Oregon, Adam Reid of Boring, Oregon, and Alison Santore of San Clemente, California.

Raised in Findlay, Beverly started her 30-year medical career at Blanchard Valley Hospital. In her mid 30s, Beverly, Jack, and their children relocated to Hillsboro, Oregon, to start a new chapter in life. Beverly went back to college in her 40s to become a registered nurse and then a head nurse in a local Portland, Oregon hospital.

Beverly's passions in life were boating, fishing, and RVing in the northwest for many years in addition to world travel with her family. Being resilient, she moved 17 times in her life and lived in seven states. Beverly loved animals, especially dogs and cats, and had many pets throughout her life.

At her request, there will be no formal service in her memory.

I miss you! I will be wishing you a heavenly birthday soon as I just had mine. Looking back at your obit, I see we had several things in common which is not unusual seeing we are so close in age. Knowing you was one of my blessings in life. Your beauty, smile, personality will be remembered by many. Our years of friendship was much too short. Rest in peace my friend.

Dear Marcia, Roy and Ron,
What a lovely mother you had! Growing up in Howard Methodist Church in Findlay I knew your mother for most of my life. She was a treasured friend of my mother, Claire Davis, and we would see her or at least talk with her on the phone when Mother would be visiting us in Lake Oswego (from 1972 on). She was always so proud of you all and we liked getting updates on your lives. As you know, she was bright, hard-working and a cheerful, positive person, one to whom I looked up from a young age. Hopefully your many good memories will sustain you in your sadness. As the Quakers say, "Holding You in the Light." Judi Davis Umaki

I have fond memories of visiting with Jack & Beverly when they were RVing in Reno. So glad I got to visit Beverly in Idaho as well. Gone too soon, even 90 years is much too short a time to share with such a lovely person. I know she will be much missed & always loved by her children, grandchildren & all who knew her -
