Beverly Cole Obituary

Beverly Jo Cole

Beverly Jo Cole, 91, passed away from natural causes, surrounded by family at Bridge Hospice Center at Blanchard Valley Hospital Wednesday, March 25, 2026. She was born August 29, 1934, to Roy and Zetta (Arnold) Morehart. She married Foster Cole, October 6, 1951, and he preceded her in death.

Beverly was a quiet and kindly woman who never sought attention but was always attentive to others. She was known as Bev to some and as Beverly to others. But to her gang from the old days, she was always Bev Jo. She was a loving caregiver to her children and a devoted wife to her husband, Foster, whom she met in the 3rd grade. They were never far apart from that day on. They married young and raised four kids on their Mt. Blanchard dairy farm, where Beverly often stepped up to do the milking if Foster was busy in the fields in the spring and summer.

She also worked for over 20 years at Meijer department store, going back to its original early 80's location.

She enjoyed simple hobbies such as jigsaw puzzles, tending flowers, reading books, and playing the organ. But she really excelled at sewing. Her sewing skills were instrumental to her talent as a creative, clever, and resourceful costume maker. Many homecoming parades, figure skating competitions and shows were made special and even dazzling over the years by her exceedingly crafty costume talents.

She is survived by a brother, Richard (Marilyn) Morehart of Dunkirk; a daughter, Judy (Robert, deceased) Deuble of Forest; sons, Bill (Jane) Cole of Jenera, Jeff (Linda) Cole of Mt. Blanchard, and Mike (Sharon) Cole of Findlay; 12 grandchildren, Eric, Andy, Amy, Joe, James, Kate, Melissa, John, Erin, Melanie, Hank, and Jackie; 12 great-grandchildren, Devin, Jenna, Natalynn, Rylie, Brian, Brady, Bentley, Will, Ellie, Addie, Foster, and Brynn; and a great-great-grandson, Jasper.

Beverly was preceded in death by her brothers, Gene and Jack Morehart.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Sunday, March 29, at the COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, until time of Beverly's service at 2 p.m. Beverly's brother-in-law, Everett Cole will preside. A reception at Crates Life Appreciation Center will follow immediately after.

Memorials may be given to either Samaritan's Purse or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.coldrencrates.com.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to all the kind doctors, nurses, and staff of Bridge Hospice, who made Beverly's last days comfortable and peaceful.
