Betty Jean (Borkosky) Fillhart Tobin

Betty Jean (Borkosky) Fillhart Tobin, 84, of Findlay and formerly of Fostoria, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Primrose Retirement Facility, Findlay.

She was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Hancock County, to Harold and Ruth (Adams) Borkosky. She married Carl Fillhart on Nov. 1, 1958, at Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria and he died Feb. 28, 1976. She then married John J. Tobin on May 25, 1979, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria and he died Nov. 25, 2009.

Betty graduated from Fostoria High School in 1956. She was a former member of Fostoria BPW, Altrusa, Risingsun Beta Sigma, and Blanchard Valley Hospital Volunteers. She was a longtime volunteer at the former St. Vincent DePaul Store in Fostoria and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel in Findlay and St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. Betty retired from Fostoria Industries in 1998 after 38 years of service in the accounting department.

Betty is survived by two children, Jeffrey (Marie) Fillhart of Lakeside, Arizona, and Sandra (Wendell) Harris of Fostoria; brother, Richard (Sharon) Borkosky of Fostoria and Punta Gorda, Florida; sister, Sue (Sam) Elliott of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Punta Gorda, Florida; daughter-in-law, Susanne Fillhart of Argyle, Texas; grandchildren, Cody and Carly Colebank, and Niki and Lily Fillhart; great-grandchildren, Lydia Hoy, Jesse Colebank, and Emelynn Roberts; stepchildren, Teresa (William) Clark of Findlay, Kevin Tobin of Fostoria, Thomas Tobin of Fostoria, Tim Tobin of Chicago, Illinois, Jonna Tobin of Asheville, North Carolina, Chad (Sara) Tobin of Columbus, and Tiffany (Adam) Lee, Christa (Dan) Uptain, Jessica Ross, and Samantha Atchley, all of Arizona; stepgrandchildren, Chalon Beatty, Jeremiah Lord, Ian Eidt, Brittany Price, Matthew Clark, Sean, Levi, Molly, and JD Tobin; and Arizona stepgrandchildren, Logan Finlee, Sawyer, Natalie, Parker, Jade, Jocelyn, Evelyn Addison, and Blake.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and son, Douglas Fillhart.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. Betty's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Deacon Dave Schiefer presiding. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery. Following burial, there will be continued fellowship at Trinity Chapel, 252 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria.
