Betty L. Romich
Betty L. Romich, 92, of Upper Sandusky, passed away at 1:39 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at Wyandot Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
She was born Dec. 4, 1930, in Upper Sandusky, to Floyd A. and Rose V. (Carpenter) Martig. Her stepmother, Harriet (Honsberger Miller), was also a big part of her life.
Betty married Charles P. "Chuck" Romich on March 24, 1950, and he preceded her in death April 18, 2011.
Betty is survived by a son, Steven (Darla) Romich of Upper Sandusky; daughter, Judy (Gary) Ault of Upper Sandusky; five grandchildren, Kevin (Jessica) Ault, Eric (Angela) Romich, Kristin (Justin) Gilkey, Craig (Breanna) Romich, and Courtney (Curtis) Sebenoler; nine great-grandchildren, Benjamin Ault, Ava Romich, Abigail Ault, Jacob Romich, Adlee Sebenoler, Rylan Sebenoler, Riley Gilkey, Weslie Romich, and Gavin Gilkey; brothers, Allen (Carol) Martig and David (Jo) Miller; and sister, Rose Marie (Paul) Amos.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother; infant son, Gary Romich; brother, Richard Martig; and sister, Barbara Martig.
After the death of her mother, Betty helped to raise her younger siblings. She worked at the Dairy Barn where she met Chuck, the love of her life. Betty and Chuck were the owners of Romich Sales & Service and Colonial Laundry. They partnered in these businesses as they did with everything in life. She was a skilled homemaker who excelled at sewing and enjoyed cooking. In addition to holiday meals, Betty continued to cook for the business and family until just recently. She was a faithful friend who loved playing cards and traveling with her husband, friends, and especially family. Betty remained an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Women of the church. To know her was to know she had a beautiful soul. She will be remember as a dedicated, loving, and proud mother and grandmother.
Betty's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Barry Halter Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023, at Bringman Clark Funeral Home.
