Betty J. Jones

Betty J. Jones, 73, of Leipsic, died at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, July 10, 2022, at The Meadows of Leipsic. She was born Aug. 22, 1948, in McComb, to the late Clare and Flossie (Smith) Bergman. On Dec. 23, 1994, she married Edward Jones and he survives in Leipsic.

Other survivors include four stepchildren; and nine stepgrandchildren.

Betty was a graduate of McComb High School, received her bachelor's degree in education and her master's Tesol degree in English for foreign students from The University of Findlay. She spent 31 years teaching at St. Mary's School, Leipsic, and worked in medical billing for different offices. Betty played the accordion and taught piano lessons. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, McComb, where she played the organ, committed Christian believing in Jesus, was a choir director, and taught confirmation classes. She was a member of The University of Findlay Symphonic Band, Findlay Civic Band, and Flag City USA Concert Band Australian Tour where she competed at Sydney Opera House.

Betty's funeral will be 12 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, McComb, with Pastor Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the church.

Memorial donations may be given to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, McComb, McComb Library, or to charity of the donor's choice.
