Can't believe it has been a year since she has been gone. Think of her every so often about her visits to our house in Ohio. She is indeed missed by family and friends.

I now have a great granddaughter named Beatrice and our family thinks it´s a beautiful name! I didn´t know it was Elinor´s name until I read her obituary. Elinor is a pretty name, too. I wish I could share this with her.

Elinor Bowersox was my first friend when I moved to Bluffton in 1957 and was hired at Triplett. She talked a lot about her wedding plans to marry Harry Burkholder. We became good friends and played cards together. When we moved to Pennsylvania, our birth announcements for our first babies crossed in the mail and we had both named our sons "David!" We both had a daughter next and then another son. They came to eastern PA one summer and we went to "the shore" together. I can´t recall which place in NJ we chose. Then we moved back to Bluffton and they left their kids with us while they went to FL. Our children were good friends but went to different schools. We moved to eastern Ohio in 1984 and continued returning to Bluffton occasionally but the visits became fewer and fewer until we were only "Christmas card friends." Now I deeply regret that. Elinor reached out through telephone calls more recently to tell me Harry passed away. Now she is with him. She spread joy everywhere she went as you can see from the smile on her face in the photo above. I know her family will miss her but they know they will see her again.

Elinor was a true light in this world. My son Zach was only one of those 150 children she looked over so lovingly and made room for in her heart and life decades ago. Yet she never forgot the families of those she cared for, and had this way of making you feel special. Rest well, precious lady. May God comfort your loved ones. You will be deeply missed!

We are so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She was a great lady with a ready smile and a kind word. Will remember times when she came with you, Judy to our house for pool visits. In one occasion she actually had a swimsuit on for pool. We loved her dearly and will miss her. Love you and are praying for your family. Love, Dave and Naomi
