Barbara L. Wolber

Barbara L. Wolber, 77, of Forest, was reunited with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Barbara was born July 15, 1948, in Findlay, Ohio, to the late Raleigh and Elizabeth (Logsdon) Powell. She met her future husband, David Wolber, while she was a waitress at Misamors, and they were married July 31, 1974, at St. Michael Archangel Parish, and he survives after 51 wonderful years of marriage. Barbara is also survived by her four loving daughters, Roxane (David) Gilreath, Rhoda (Nicolas) Sayre, Rebecca (Troy) Reynolds, and Rochelle Wolber; grandchildren whom she adored, Justin (Amanda) Wallen, Kara (Josh) Mullen, Cade (Sierra Nunez) Decker, Dakota Decker, Alexander Sayre, Zachary Sayre, Elaina Wolber, Elizabeth Wolber, Austin (Lexy Kaltenbach) Gilreath and Gavin Gilreath, and eight great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Rose Whisler, Thomas Powell, Karl (Karen) Powell and David Powell.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Catherine Giron and Mark Powell; her father and mother-in-law, Leonard and Bernice Marie Wolber; and her beloved aunt, Evelyn Hansman.

Barbara was a 1966 graduate of St. Francis Convent in Tiffin. Barbara was a faithful and devoted member of St. John Lutheran Church in Dola, Ohio. Her church was not only a place of worship but a cornerstone of her life. She was actively involved in Lutheran World Service, lovingly sewing quilts that brought warmth and comfort to others. Barbara's faith was evident in the way she lived; she shared the love of Jesus with everyone she met.

A natural caregiver, Barbara consistently put the needs of others before her own. She had a contagious smile, a loving heart, and a servant's spirit that touched countless lives. Her extended church family will deeply miss her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion.

Barbara was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting and enjoyed simple pleasures that brought people together. She loved playing cards, especially pinochle and euchre, and never turned down a good game of Scrabble. Whether around a card table or gathered with family, she cherished time spent together.

Above all, Barbara was devoted to her family. She was family-oriented in every sense of the word, and her grandchildren were the most important part of her life. She made it a priority to attend their sporting events and activities, always cheering them on with pride and joy.

Barbara was also a remarkable fighter. She was a two-time breast cancer survivor and survived open-heart surgery, facing each challenge with strength, courage, and deep faith. Her resilience was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Barbara's legacy is one of faith, love, service, and selflessness. She leaves behind a family who adored her, a church family who cherished her, and a community made better by her presence. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.

Visitation for Barbara will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, Ohio 43316. Barbara's Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church, 5015 Co Rd 115, Dola, OH 45835, Pastor Steven Ramsey, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Salem Township.
