Barbara Ann Sanders

Barbara Ann Sanders, 80, of Findlay, died at 12:40 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at Sunrise Senior Living after a 13-year battle with Alzheimer's. She was born July 5, 1944, in Glandorf to the late Clarence and Bertha (Fischer) Kohls. Barbara was divorced from John Ferance, who preceded her in death, and later married Paul Sanders, who is also deceased.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Douglas) Zirger of Findlay; and granddaughters, Sydney and Cassidy Zirger; as well as many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Kohls; sister, Carol Hohman; and granddaughter, Bailey Ann Zirger.

Barbara was a 1962 graduate of Glandorf High School, followed by attending and graduating from the State Beauty Academy.

Barbara worked as a cosmetologist for 30 plus years and eventually retired from JC Penney in her 50s. She continued hairdressing at her home for her friends and family. She would continue with her elderly clients through their funerals as she considered it an honor and privilege. Beyond her strong commitment to her husband and family, she was eternally committed to Christ. If she wasn't hairdressing, she was in church. She was heavily involved in choir, praise and worship team and Easter Contata, as well as women's studies and annual camp meetings.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Ken McBeath will officiate, and burial will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia.
