Barbara J. Hughes

Barbara J. Hughes, 79, of Findlay, passed away at her residence Sunday, November 2, 2025. She was born in Falls City, Nebraska, May 26, 1946, the daughter of the late William R. Pool (USAF) and Elizabeth Alarde.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer (Kevin) Smith, Findlay; and son, John "Kenn" (Meghan) Hughes Jr., Wakefield, New Hampshire; 10 grandchildren, Emily, Jaqueline, Landon, Eryka, Aubrey, Dakota, Chloe, Abigail, Isabella, and Jackson; nine great-grandchildren, Akiera, Mila, Easton, Ariella, Olivia, Octavia, Romeo, Maddi, and Hadley; one great-grandchild, Hudson and her brother, William (USAF) (Mary) Pool Jr. of Oklahoma.

Preceding her in death were her parents; stepmother, Henrietta Pool; a sister, Joanne Banaag; and a brother, Ray E. Pool.

Barbara was a seamstress at B.J.'s Custom Sewing and was a restaurant owner and manager with her daughter at the Old-World Cafe. She was an artist, enjoying writing poetry and painting. Barbara was also a second mother and nana to many kids, taking shelter kids into her home many times into adulthood.

There will be no services or visitation at this time.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Operation Smile or Bridge Home, Health, and Hospice.
