Barbara Hartigan Obituary

Barbara Ann Hartigan

Barbara Ann (Hull) Hartigan, born in Findlay, May 11, 1933, died at Memorial Hermann Medical Center in Katy, Texas, Friday, November 28, 2025, after a very brief illness.

Barbara was a devoted wife and mother who spent many vacations around the country, as well as numerous trips to Europe and North Africa to visit her daughter's family during their postings there. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and needlework, making many garments for her daughter and grandchildren, as well as quilts and garments for charity work through her church, Trinity Lutheran Church in Findlay.

She attended Wittenburg College in Springfield, Ohio, for two years in the early 1950s, before her marriage to Homer E. Hartigan, also from Findlay, in late 1952. As members of the Air Force, Homer and Barb were posted to several stateside locations until Homer's discharge in 1956. Back in Findlay, Barb had two children, Kimberly Anne in 1957 and Jeffrey Joe in 1954.

Barbara worked as the principal's secretary at Central Junior High School in Findlay from 1968-1980. In 1980, she joined Marathon Oil Co. as a senior secretary in marketing. She retired in 1990.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 73 years, Homer; daughter, Kimberly (Brehm) of Katy, Texas, and her husband, Jeffrey Brehm; grandchildren, Nicole Pietragallo, Lindsey Brehm, DVM, and Cody Lynn Brehm; three great-grandchildren; and her sister, Cynthia Russell.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Ruth Hull;and her son, Jeffrey Joe (1967).
