Barbara Buchanan Obituary

Barbara Ann Buchanan

Barbara Ann Buchanan, 84, of North Baltimore died at 11:18 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at Briar Hill Health Campus, with her loving husband Gary by her side as he cared for her until the very end. She was born Aug. 19, 1940, in Fremont to the late LeRoy and Keitha (Long) Rose. She married Gary Buchanan on Jan. 17, 1976, and he survives.

Barb is also survived by her son, Thomas (Rhonda) Loucks of Green Springs; daughters, Debra Reed of Findlay and Stephanie (Al) Tatham of Weston; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Eberly.

Barb was a retired hairdresser. She loved being outdoors, in the woods and spending time at their family quarry. Barb's charming personality, witty humor and laughter will be missed.

A private family graveside service will be at Old Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.

Arrangements are being handled by SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore.

Memorial contributions may be made to Careline Hospice, Toledo and/or a charity of the donor's choice.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Barb, who touched so many lives with her warmth and kindness. Barb wasn´t just a talented hairstylist she was a friend, a confidant, and someone who made every visit special. Her smile and gentle spirit made even the simplest moments meaningful. My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with her family and loved ones. Barb will be missed, but her memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives she made brighter.

Ohhhh grandma you'll be missed dearly. So many memories to share. From shopping trips, swimming laps around the quarry, bike rides on the bike trail, so many board games and cards games too many to name, we love and miss you grandma.

Barb was like a second mom to me. Barb and her kids lived with my mom, sister and I for a short while and Judi was my best friend. Many good memories of Barb. I'll never forget the year she dyed her hair pink for New Years Eve. Prayers and love to the family.
