Barbara R. Bloomfield

Barbara R. Bloomfield, 92, passed away at 2:54 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Barbara was born March 10, 1931, in Hardin County, to Roy L. Hoover and Abby Edith (Sinift) Weis. She married Clyde E. Bloomfield on Feb. 4, 1989, and he preceded her in death Nov. 27, 2018.

Barbara is survived by her children, John Michael (Jeannine) Clark of Findlay, Roderick "Rick" J. (Ann) Clark of Russells Point, Ogio, and Sandra K. (Jeff) Hissong of Arlington; son in-law, Joe Smith of Newnan, Georgia; grandchildren, Beth (Gregg), Joe (Josie), Rachael (Aaron), Lindsay (Bo), Erin, Amber, Lucas (Anna), Amy (Jason), Jay (Caroline), and Ethan; great-grandchildren, Justin, Graham, Patrick, Anna, Victoria, Alexis, Sam, Daniel, Jase, Sydney, Carsyn, Quinn, Gavin, Ty, Mia, Andrew, Nathan, Joshua, Abram, Andersyn, Theodore, Georgie, and Miles; six great-great-grandchildren; stepson, Glen Bloomfield; and stepdaughter, Jennifer Orion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Patrick J. Clark; daughter, Vicki J. Smith; sister, Betty Jean Baier; stepson, Larry Bloomfield; and stepdaughter Caroline Bloomfield.

Barbara attended McGuffey High School and worked at Air Foil Textron as an inspector for 34 years from which she retired in 1989. She was a member of Indian Lake Community Church where she was an elder and sang in the choir. Barbara volunteered at Lima Memorial Hospital for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She also loved to fish and watch her Ohio State football and basketball games on television.

Barbara's funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday. Jan. 20, 2024, at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Pastor Jim Ellington and Pastor Karen Blackburn will officiate. Burial will be at Preston Cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, at EASTSIDE CHAPEL.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to Indian Lake Community Church.
