Anthony Overbee Obituary
Anthony Joseph Overbee, 13, passed away at 4:25 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, with his family by his side after a short battle with COVID.
He was born Feb. 5, 2009, in Toledo, to Tyler J. and Lucinda J. (Foltz) Overbee. He and his identical twin brother, Owen, had a lengthy stay in the NICU and were "million dollar miracle babies." They were inseparable and the best of friends.
He attended preschool at Angeline School in Upper Sandusky. He was a previous student at Mohawk Elementary School and was currently attending Palatka JR/SR High. Anthony had an infectious smile that warmed one's heart from the moment you met him and loved to surprise you with hugs.
Like most kids his age, Anthony was a gamer. He spent a lot of long nights playing his Xbox with Fortnite being his favorite game. He loved creating pencil drawings with Owen and he had a great love for animals especially cats. Anthony was a bit of a cat whisperer who could gain the trust and love of any stray.
Anthony will be sadly missed by his parents; four siblings, Jameson, Kansas, Owen, and Tayler Overbee; maternal grandparents, David and Terri Foltz of Palatka, Florida; paternal grandmother, Vicki Overbee of Carey; paternal great-grandmother, Rosie Boyce of Carey; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Anthony was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jimmy Overbee; paternal great-grandparents, Howard Boyce and Isaac and Betty Overbee; and maternal great-grandparents, Cynthia (John) Henderson, William Foltz, Billy Bray, and Beverly Roberts.
A gathering of family and friends will be 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
Anthony's service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Jesse Etter officiating.
Anthony had a great love for all animals so the family is asking for donations to be made to local humane societies in his honor and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
