Annette Bowden Obituary

Annette Louise Bowden

Annette Louise Bowden, 85, of Findlay, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday Dec. 23, 2022, at The Heritage, Findlay. She battled Alzheimer's disease for nearly a decade.

Anne was born Nov. 24, 1937, in Findlay, to Ruth M. and Robert Arno (Dugan) Snyder.

Anne's survivors include her loving husband of nearly 64 years, David B. Bowden of Findlay; brother, Joseph Snyder (Trina) of Findlay; sister-in-law, Jane Snyder of Findlay; sons, David Bowden (Janice) of West Liberty, Robert Bowden (Kristin) of Findlay, and Michael Bowden (Georgia Craig) of Sunbury; grandchildren, Benjamin Bowden (Rebeka) of Budapest, Hungary, Jared Bowden of West Liberty, Lindsey Zeisloft (Ron) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Nicholas Bowden (Julie) of Columbus, Catherine Craig-Bowden of Lebanon, Ohio, and Caroline Craig-Bowden (Robert) of Johnstown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Dugan Snyder; and brother, John R. Snyder.

Anne was a 1955 graduate of Findlay High School. After high school, she went to Bowling Green State University and then to Ohio Northern University where she met the love of her life and graduated in 1959 with a Bachelors Degree and later earned certification in Special Education. She taught in Findlay City Schools for eight years as a certified Learning Disability Tutor. Anne continued to serve families in her community through Ohio Children Conservation League for over 40 years and served as the district president in 1986. Anne also served as president and secretary of Millstream Woodcarvers of Findlay.

For over four decades, Anne was employed by Ohio Conveyor & Supply, Inc. and in her later years, she served as the company's secretary and treasurer. She enjoyed interacting with customers and vendors and working with her son, Bob, and her brothers, John and Joe, as they carried on the legacy of her father's company. She retired at age 80 from the OC. As a child, Anne was a member of German Reformed Church. She later attended Howard Methodist Church and First United Church of Christ.

Anne enjoyed getaways to Amish Country with her husband, Dave, as well as baking and cooking. Everyone enjoyed her award-winning pumpkin pie, her legendary cut out cookies at Christmas time, and her home-made noodles. In the spring time, Anne would often participate in the Hancock County bird count and enjoyed tending to her flowers and roses. Most of all, Anne treasured spending time with her family and grandchildren. She never missed a chance to help celebrate holidays, birthdays, and milestones.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Anne's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Heritage and Bridge Hospice for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to First United Church of Christ, Bridge Hospice, Alzheimer's Association of NW Ohio, or charity of the donor's choice in Anne's honor. Online condolences are welcomed at www.coldrencrates.com.

I can only imagine that mom (Sally Cassidy) and Ann´s celebration when they met again was glorious and now they will continue their long lasting friendship. Ann was incredibly kind and would drop everything when we would come to visit. I remember we would always go and watch Dave making his jewelry and never left their house with out something beautiful and hand made. She will be missed by us all. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Anne and I were classmates at FHS, so many years ago. She was always such a nice person, popular with her classmates. My husband alway enjoyed talking to Ann when he had occasion to go to Ohio Conveyor. Ann always had a smile and she and Bob were always such good friends with my brother Mel Baughman. MY sympathies to all her family.
