Andrew Walker Obituary
Andrew David Walker, 14, of Findlay, passed away Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, at Blanchard Valley Hospital emergency room from an unexpected medical event.
He was born Dec. 14, 2008, in Findlay, to Dwayne and Lisa (Brown) Walker.
He is survived by his parents; sisters, Mackenzie and Alexis Walker; maternal grandfather, David Brown of Findlay; aunts, Sara Yunker of Findlay, Tina (Rodney) Kolbe of Westerville, Laura Montgomery of Perrysburg, Becky Arledge, and Pamela Simkins; uncles, Jerry Walker, Carl Walker Jr., and Randy Walker; and loving cousins, Gibson and Roslyn Yunker and Bryson, Katie, Thomas, and Sammy Kolbe.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Carl and Judy Walker; maternal great-grandparents, Eugene and Margaret Brown; and uncle, Brent Yunker.
Andrew was a kind-hearted, lovable kid who was passionate about everything he did. He fell in love with sports at an early age. He was a freshman at Liberty-Benton High School where he was on the junior varsity golf team and was a member of the marching band. However, he was probably best-known for his avid tweeting of everything related to Liberty-Benton sports under his tweeter handle @AndrewW2027. Andrew's love for Liberty-Benton sports was contagious to the point where athletes and students celebrated Andrew's sports reporting as much as he celebrated their accomplishments on the field. Fans, along with both local and regional sports reporters, could depend on Andrew's tweets to keep them up to date on the games he attended. Andrew was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Andrew was well known for his "Andrew Hugs" by his family and close friends. He never left without giving you a hug and sometimes two if the goodbyes took too long.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Andrew's funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at Gateway Church, 9555 County Road 9, Findlay, Ohio, 45840. Burial will follow at Benton Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of Andrew in care of Coldren-Crates Funeral Home for a future scholarship in Andrew's memory.
