Almon Thompson Sr., 81, of Carlisle, Ohio, and formerly of Findlay, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at Kettering Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg.

He was born Dec. 22, 1941, in Pineville, Kentucky, to the late McCoy and Bessie (Asher) Thompson. He married Alice Woodward in 1962 and she passed away in 2016.

Almon is survived by a son, Almon (Laura) Thompson Jr. of Findlay; daughter, Lori Anne (Sean) Tenninson of Cosby, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Almon Thompson III, Emma Lee Thompson, Jade Coy, Shelbie (Wesley) Teaster, and Samantha Rose; and three great-grandchildren, Aiden Coy, Ashton Coy, and Lincoln Teaster.

Almon was a finishing carpenter for many years, starting in the early '60s working for Hal Bondus and Elmer Harmon, and in later years for Koehler Const. and Millstream Blds.

Almon enjoyed vacationing in Tennessee at his daughter's home in the Smokey Mountains. He enjoyed attending Cincinnati Reds games with his son, Almon Jr. and trips back to Pineville, Kentucky.
