I met Al in the early 90's when I also worked at UF. What a genuine great guy, and what a friend. Alwys a smile on his face every time I saw him. We were close in the 90's and early 2000's, but drifted apart a little. But, every time I saw him - or bumped into him - we talked and talked.
I was so sad to hear about his passing! One in a million, and one of those really special people. One of those people that make you a better person just by getting to know them. You will be missed by all who knew you Al!

I first encountered Al when our teams played each other. He at Arcadia and I at Hopewell Loudon. Later we would see each other as our careers unfolded over the years. I considered Al to be an astute coach, professional person and a gentleman.
I´m sure he will be missed by all who knew and associated with him. My sympathy goes out to his family.

Coach Baker was my basketball coach at Arcadia when we won the BVC championship in 1978. He gave me a life-long love of basketball. My sympathies go out to his family.
