Rosalie Bohmfalk Jones

1935 - 2026

Rosalie Bohmfalk Jones of Yancey passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2026. She was 90.

Born Sept. 5, 1935, in Hondo, she was the daughter of Emil Schweer Bohmfalk and Katie Mae Sterling Bohmfalk. Rosalie was a 1954 graduate of Yancey High School.

A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Yancey, Rosalie enjoyed being with people and often helped with community and church activities. Time spent with her grandkids brought her great joy as did supporting her church's youth group.

Skilled in the art of crocheting, she shared beautiful creations-blankets, stuffed animals, baby clothes, tiny holiday emblems, and more-with family and friends. She always looked forward to meeting with the Quilting Group with her Yancey friends and she loved tending her miniature roses and brightening others' days with the tiny blooms.

Rosie was a dedicated typist/typesetter for many years at the Hondo Anvil Herald, turning out innumerable inches of copy for the weekly publications. She retired in 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Freddie Ray Jones; grandson, Brandon Van Cleve; great-granddaughter, Kelly Ann Braus; and her siblings and their spouses, R. E. Bohmfalk (Imogene), Clifford Bohmfalk (Marilyn), Robert Arnold Bohmfalk and Clarence Ray Bohmfalk.

Rosalie leaves behind her son, George Ray Jones (Cindy) of Hondo; daughters, Dorothy Sue Jordan (Michael) of Corpus Christi and Paula Jones Van Cleve (Irl) of LaPryor; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pat Bohmfalk; and long-time best friend, JoAnne Faseler.

Visitation will be Friday , Feb. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service will be Saturday, Feb. 21, 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Yancey, followed by interment at Yancey Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Kevin Van Cleve, Garrett Jones, Mike Connell, Joe Braus, Marco Rocha and Roger Faseler.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 27, Yancey TX 78886.
