Nancy Kassien Obituary

Nancy (Harpin) Kassien, 64, beloved wife of Randy Kassien, of South Windsor, passed away on January 12, 2026. Born in Hartford on March 31, 1961, she was the daughter of Harvey and Lillian (McLeod) Harpin.

Along with her husband, she leaves her son Tyler Kassien and his wife Esosa of Stafford, brother Michael Harpin and his wife Stepheni of Holland, MA, brother Norman Harpin of Florida and sister Deborah Harpin of New Hampshire, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Lillian in 2023.

Nancy enjoyed reading and her yearly trips to Ogunquit, Maine with her mother and sister, as well as the family reunion vacations with her in-laws. She especially loved her two cats Selena and Panda, who she rescued from Protectors of Animals. She loved working at Smith Brothers Insurance and was very grateful for their kindness and support during her cancer battle.

The family would like to give a special shout out to the Visiting Nurses who took such great care of Nancy and helped make it possible for her to live at home.

Calling hours will be held on January 28th, 2026, at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street, Manchester, from 4-6:15 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following. Flowers and/or memorial contributions can be made to Protectors of Animals of East Hartford.
