Kathryn Gardina Obituary

Kathryn Ann Gardina went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2026. Kathryn (Kathy) was born in Olean, New York on August 5, 1950 to Laura (Czyzyk) and Francis Gardina. She was the oldest of five children, growing up in Mount Vernon, Ohio.

Kathryn traveled to all the continents and thirty-two states. She was very fond of her pet cats: Cinnamon, Sweetness, Blessed, Sebastian, Sparky, and Daffodil.

Kathy was a candystriper in high school. Her first job was as a nurse aide. Later, Kathryn was a lector at Holy Family Parish in Denver and Our Lady of the Assumption in Westcliffe, Colorado. She volunteered at the 9 News Health Fair and was a scribe at the flu shot clinic in Westcliffe.

She is survived by sisters: Bernadette Marie Gardina, Mt . Vernon, Ohio; Nancy Ann (Joe) Aninao, Columbus, Ohio; brother: Paul Francis Gardina, Columbus, Ohio; nephew: James Francis Gardina, Columbus,Ohio. Kathryn was preceded in death by her sister, Marian Teresa Gardina; her mother, Laura Barbara Gardina; and her father, Francis Michael Gardina.

A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 109 South Fifth Street, Westcliffe, CO 81252.
