Flossie Short Obituary

Flossie Anita Calhoun Short age 83 passed away surrounded by her family on Friday evening January 16, 2026. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by 3 children Teresa and Nathan Bullington, Christine Poppendorf, and Katherine and Roger Helbert, grandchildren Dr. Casey and Denise Nicholson, Jason Nicholson, Amber and Ryan Parvin, Jonathan and Julia Gerwe-Nicholson, Ethan Bullington, Alexandria Poppendorf and Joshua Carter of Calgary, Canada, Lyndsey and Nathan Barnes, Lucas and Tessa Weems, great grandchildren Charlie Nicholson and Brody Parvin, sisters and brothers-in-law Frances Parks, Julia and Lee Maggard, Deliah "Polly" and David Bays, and Shirley Smith, brother and sister-in-law Jackie and Mary Calhoun, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 yrs Leon Short, parents Joseph and Delphia Calhoun, sister Margie Stidham. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm Tuesday January 20, 2026 at Jeffers Funeral Chapel at Afton. The funeral service will follow at 6pm Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Casey Nicholson officiating. The graveside service will be at 11am Wednesday in Graceland Memorial Gardens. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery Wednesday for the committal service.
