Joe Parker Obituary

Mr. Joe Ellis Parker, age 86, resident of Newhope, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at his home.

He was born on April 8, 1939, in Athens, Arkansas. He was a member of Daisy Church of Christ, and he retired after 28 years from Weyerhaeuser D&E Railroad Company. He owned and operated Parker Peach Orchard for over 20 years. Mr. Parker loved hunting, gardening, and fishing with his number one fishing partner daughter Michelle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arra Denman and Lottie Kemp Parker; one son, Steven Joe Parker; three sisters, Idell Parker Clay, Imozell Parker Clark and Vina Lee Parker; two brothers, Rubin Jefferson "Bud" Parker, and LD Parker.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy Parker; three daughters, Lorey Throgmartin of Hanover Park, Illinois, Christy Parker Young (Travis) of Newhope, Arkansas and Michelle Parker of Amity, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Renee Throgmartin, Riley Throgmartin, Cassie Burrow (Kyle), Tyler Young (Kashmir) and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Parker will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Athens Cemetery with Billy Tom Young and Travis Young officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
