Patricia Wheeler Obituary

Patricia “Pat” Wheeler (nee Hardewig), 79, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026. She was born to the late Helen and Joseph Hardewig on July 5, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Pat was the beloved wife of the late Bob “Smokey” Wheeler for 48 years; loving mother of Sherri Clark and Terri (George) Clark; cherished grandmother of Hayden (Baylee) Clark, Cole Clark, Mariah Clark, and Courtney Clasgens; and soon to be great-grandmother of one on the way. She is also survived by her sister, Joanne (the late Ronald) Curry, along with numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Pat lived for the thrill of a jackpot and the sweetness of a well-earned dessert. She approached life with optimism and never expressed a complaint. She found joy in each day, whether cheering on a gameshow contestant, planning her next vacation, or hearing the celebratory ring of a slot machine. Pat adored the Christmas season, from decorating and hosting in her home to gifting the perfect present to those she loved. She loved to spread joy to family and friends. Pat was the undeniable “glue” of the family. She didn’t just live life; she savored every bit of it. Her legacy of kindness and love will not be forgotten.

Visitation in Pat’s honor will be held on Tuesday, February 17th from 11:00am until time of Funeral Service at 1:00pm at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 5527 Cheviot Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio 45247. Memorial Contributions in her honor may be made to the American Heart Association (click here to contribute online).

I've known Pat for 61 years when we both started working on the same day at Columbia Parkway and started carpooling together. She was the sweetest, caring and fun person I have ever met. Always enjoyed our lunches. She will be missed.

I knew Pat for many years while working at EPA. She was a great employee and a wonderful person. She was also part of our EPA retired folks lunch group and always made our day. She will be missed but not forgotten.

I will miss our laughs and talks and late lunches and dinners while the staff give us the stink eye to leave. Pat made everyone's life brighter just by her presence. You will be very missed.
