Gloria Jean (Hoyt) Latham, 83, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away on January 12, 2026, at Alliance Health at Maples in Wrentham, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Warren Henry Latham, to whom she was married on January 20, 1962, and who predeceased her on November 9, 2025.
Born in Attleboro, MA on November 8, 1942, she was the daughter of the late George Hoyt and the late Emily Etta (Lockwood) Hoyt. Gloria was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro and was a graduate of Attleboro High School.
She began her career at Leach & Garner in Attleboro, MA where she met her husband and became a devoted mother to their two children.
In later years, she returned to the workforce as a waitress, working at Bliss Brothers for 45 years until her retirement in 2014. She made many friendships with the customers she was honored to serve.
For many years Gloria was a devoted member of Community Covenant Church in Rehoboth, where she was affectionately known by the children as the "Lollipop Lady". In later years she attended Living Way Church in North Attleboro and enjoyed giving out stickers to the children.
Gloria was a volunteer at Birthright and will be lovingly remembered as a benevolent woman who gave graciously to the causes close to her heart.
This love of giving was evidenced as a young teen when she and several of her friends formed The Popcorn Club to raise money for charity. Through babysitting, running errands, and more, they donated almost $8 to the Jimmy Fund that first summer.
Gloria loved to travel, whether it was to England or around the US. She enjoyed Birthright Conventions, visiting family in Florida, mother-daughter trips, and several times drove to Vermont for breakfast to the scenic Skyline Drive in Sunderland.
She went with family members on several mission trips to the Dominican Republic. On one such trip, it was to visit the George Hoyt School in El Salado, which was named after her father for the mission work he had done through World Vision and Bethany Congregational Church in South Attleboro.
Gloria loved spending time with her beloved family and many friends.
Gloria's faith and hope in Jesus were foundational to her life. This was evidenced by how she lived her life and through the kindness she showed to everyone around her.
She leaves her children: Sharon Latham Capodanno and her husband, Michael Capodanno, of Attleboro, MA and Daniel Latham and his wife, Linda (Lefevre) Latham, of Rehoboth, MA; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; her brothers: George Hoyt of Rockland, MA and Russell Hoyt and his wife, Siri Hoyt, of Attleboro, MA and extended family members, members of her husband's family and many friends.
A private graveside service will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gloria's honor may be made to Lenore's Pantry, 43 South Washington Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760.
