Emmett Hutton Crummett, 84, of Monterey, died Sunday night, August 27, 1989 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
He was born January 10, 1905 at Valley Center, a son of William A. and Mary Ella (Doyle) Crummett.
He was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church and Mill Gap Ruritan Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Harlow of Waynesboro and Deborah Wiseman of Staunton; two sons, James of Mt. Sidney and Terry V. Crummett of Waynesboro; a sister, Alta Brock of Monterey; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. C. William Cox. Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie White, Glenn Shuey, Tommy Simmons, E.N. Pugh, Curtis Gutshall, Simon Knopp, Dave Benton and Richard Lucas.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in McDowell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland County Rescue Squad, Monterey, Va. 24465 or to the Waynesboro Rescue Squad, Waynesboro, Va. 22980.
