Deloris Ann Wurdinger, daughter of Alfred and Ida (Burger) Pedersen, was born in
Plainview, Nebraska on June 29, 1934. She was baptized on August 17, 1941, and had her first communion during the Summer of 1942. Deloris grew up on the family farm and attended school in Plainview, graduating high school in 1952. After graduation, she traveled to Cuba with a couple of her classmates.
After high school, Deloris taught school for two years and worked in Omaha. On December 26, 1956, she was united in marriage with Donald Lavern Wurdinger at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk. The couple lived on a farm north of Stanton. They were blessed with four children.
Deloris and Don played cards with neighbors and went to dances at Kings Ballroom. She helped her children with 4-H, taking sheep to the county fair. They traveled to Mexico and throughout the U.S., visiting family in Oregon, California, and many other places. Deloris farmed with her husband and worked at Dale's Electronics until her retirement. She continued to live on the farm after her husband's death in 2013.
She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often taking care of them while their parents worked. She assisted several of them with their crafts for 4-H projects over the years.
She is survived by her children, Linda and Santiago "Jesse" Pena of Norfolk, Donald "Chuck" and Susan Wurdinger, James and Barbara Wurdinger, and Thomas and Debra Wurdinger, all of Stanton; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents, Alfred and Ida Pedersen; in-laws Alfons and Flossie Wurdinger; sisters, Dorothy Ackman and Donna and Vernon Gansebom; one grandson; and four great-grandchildren.
