TROY - Jim Warren Romick, age 93 of Troy, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025, in the hospice unit of Dayton VA Medical Center. He was born November 4, 1931, in Rawson, OH to the late Luther and Maxine (Krout) Romick.
Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife Helen Romick on October 29, 2015; his brothers Bill and Ed Romick; and son-in-law Ken Coon.
Those left to cherish Jim's memory include his son Jack Romick (Jennifer) of Troy; daughters Linda Moorhead (Reed) of Findlay and Susan Coon of Troy; grandchildren Abby Coon (Chynna), Aaron Coon (Amanda), David Moorhead (Adrianne), Rebekah Tracy (Dan), Jasmine Romick (Vedansh), and Josie Romick; great grandchildren Preston, Brooks, Carson, Hayes, and Chloe, who is due to arrive in September; as well as sister Ann Keller of Findlay.
Jim was a graduate of Rawson High School and attended Bowling Green University. Jim enlisted in the US Air Force and proudly served his country for several years. Upon his discharge, Jim made a career as a corporate pilot. He saw employment with several corporations including Marathon, Meade-Johnson, American Financial, Hobart Corp., Dart Kraft, Federated Department Stores, and Stolle Corp. After his retirement, Jim took his love for flying to a smaller scale and spent his time constructing and flying model airplanes. He was a dedicated member of the WACO Historical Society and a member of First United Methodist Church in Troy. He was an avid traveler, enjoying trips all over the country, especially Colorado and Gatlinburg, TN. Jim cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00PM Sunday, August 17, 2025, at First United Methodist Church, Troy with Pastor Chris Heckaman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the WACO Historical Society. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
