Dorothy (Jenkins) Sutton of
West Chester, Ohio passed away at home on September 23, 2025.
She was born in Bellefontaine Ohio on March 4, 1938 to the late Claude M "Key" Jenkins and late Mildred N (Underwood) Jenkins. Dorothy married William R "Bill" Sutton on December 28, 1957 and he preceded her in death on July 2015.
Dorothy graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1956. Attended The Ohio State University and University of Cincinnati Raymond Walters college.
Dorothy worked over 21 years at the Mason Public Library and enjoyed helping to organize the outreach program. She loved reading and collected a wealth of books over the years. She had a strong bond and friendship with her co-workers at the library.
She was a soccer mom, troop leader and member of the Lakota High School Boosters Club.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons William Randall Sutton (Nora) of El Paso, Texas, Richard Scott Sutton of
West Chester, Ohio and daughter Nancy Jo Sutton of Tempe, Arizona.
Her brother Herbert Key Jenkins preceded her in death was married to Dottie Organ Jenkins (her sister-in-law) living in Indiana. Preceded in death by her nephews Mike and Hal and grandniece Lindsay. She has a niece Christine Jenkins Stewart in Indiana with several grandnieces and grandnephews Taryn, Adam (Jessi), Matt (Jess), and Molly and their children from her brother's family tree.
Her beloved sister, Carolyn Fitzpatrick preceded her in death in 2019 and was married to Lawrence Fitzpatrick. Dorothy has two more nieces Susan Fitzpatrick (Jordan grandnephew and Aiden Great grandnephew) and Diane Justice and a nephew Kevin Fitzpatrick from her sister's family tree all residing in Ohio.
Dorothy's two sister-in-laws on the Sutton Family side, Suzanne Sutton died in December 2024 and Barbara Graves Sutton is living in Hamilton Ohio.
Dorothy is also survived by her Grandson Cole Sutton, Granddaughter Carly Sutton, Grandson Sean Sutton (Mary) and Great Grandson Gabe from her son's Rick Sutton's family along with cousins, aunts, uncles and other extended and bonus family members.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 11:00 am Huntsville Cemetery located at 3691 County Road 37, Huntsville Ohio 43324. Lot #93. There will be a celebration of life after the graveside service at Indian Lake.
