Lord God,
You are the one who set fathers in honor over their children, and who remembers every act of love. Thank You for the gift of my dad, for his understanding heart, his wisdom, and his forgiving spirit. In your mercy remember the kindness and patience he showed and let his sins melt away like frost in the warmth of your grace. Look with favor on our family in this time of grief. Help us to honor his memory by living with the same understanding, wisdom, and forgiveness that we received from him. Grant him rest, light, and peace in your presence. Amen.
A brother in Christ
