She was born the daughter of Harold and Catherine Kaup on October 18, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a graduate of Regis High School, attended Kirkwood Community College and later, as an adult returning student, obtained a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College.
Pat worked at several companies in Florida and Illinois before returning to Florida where she worked as a Fiscal Analyst in the Brevard County Solid Waste Management Department until she retired.
Pat is survived by her son, David Adams (Heather) of Gilbert, AZ, four grandchildren, (Devin, Owen, Ashton, and Braydan), brothers Bob Kaup (Donna) Elgin. IL, Mike Kaup (Carol), Lake Elmo, MN, and a sister, Sue Ullrick (Steve) Madison, WI along with several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Helen Kaup Carnes.
Pat always considered herself a “Florida girl” even during her time living in the Midwest. She had many dear friends wherever she lived. She loved traveling, especially cruising, attending live theater, especially musicals, and a trip to a casino now and then. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
A visitation and memorial service will be held Thursday August 7, 2025 from 1-3PM at Buggs Funeral Home. The service will begin at 2PM.

My dear friend, there will always be an empty place in my heart where your laughter once echoed, your kindness once bloomed, and your presence brought light. Until we meet again, I wish you a peaceful journey home— a path lined with serenity, love, and eternal rest. My thoughts and prayers are with you, now and always. You were, and forever will be, my beloved friend.

Pat was the heart of our company GET Inc! She was smart, trustworthy, creative, hard-working and a friend to all, but she could also be tough and didn't suffer fools. I was honored to know her and count her as a friend. So very sorry for everyone in her orbit. I miss her.

You were the sunshine on rainy days with your humor and wit. We shared so many laughs and tears through our years as friends who were like sisters. My heart aches. I am so thankful we were able to connect for dinner when Jen and I were in Orlando. You always made that one night dinner with us so special. My deepest sympathy to her sister, Sue, her son and the many family and friends that will miss her as much as I will. Hope heaven has a casino and you hold my seat until I can meet you there. Love you Pat
