Cosmos Melton Obituary

Cosmos Dale Melton, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, February 7th 2026.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112.

Cosmos is preceded in death by his son, Remington Melton, his father, Benjamin Franklin Melton (Frank) and his mother, Mable Ann Melton, his sister, Teresa Deese, brother, Tracy Harrington, brother, Gerald Melton Sr.

Cosmos was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed doing yard work and gardening, and loved working on his corvette! Spending time with his kids!! He was never to busy for anything when it came to his kids! He never missed a ball game, no matter what he had going on he always showed up for his kids! Cosmos worked for the Desai family for the last ten years of his life along side his best friend, Chris Hegler!

Cosmos is survived by his wife, Marlena of Monroe, his children who he adored Jayda Gray, Payton Gray, Brantley Broome, Henley Broome, Lonnie Broome, all of Unionville, NC, his aunt, Elaine Melton (Melton's Tax Service) of Weddington, NC and his cousins, Rodney Melton of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Johnny Melton (John Boy) of Monroe, NC. He leaves behinds many cherished uncles and cousins.
