Brian Leahy Obituary

We were constant companions from the 50's thru the early 70's. Loved the Beatles together and wiffle ball in his side yard. I left Maple Shade in 1974 and remade contact with Brian sometime in the 2010's. We went to Phillies games together up to last year (2025). He was one of the most decent, knowledgable fellows I ever spent time with. I feel a great loss and will miss him greatly. The world is darker without him!! RIP friend.

I met Brian while walking at the Cherry Hill Mall with my high school classmate, Bill Kline. While we weren’t close, I always looked forward to our conversations.
Brian was smart, funny, thoughtful, and kind. One conversation I’ll always remember was about horses—he truly lit up when he talked about them.
It’s clear the world has lost a kind and good-hearted gentleman.

Brian was such a kind, warm gentleman. He shared his love for horses with me and even gave me a cap for my father who also loves horses. It was great seeing him before and after Mass at OLPH. May he rest with our good Lord Jesus.

I met Brian as a coworker at Valley Forge Casino but it wasn’t long before we became friends. Such a kind interesting knowledgeable man. He will be missed. The world needs more people just like Brian.

Your obituary somehow captured so much of Brian's life; well said. Brian was so curious and interested in others, caring, light-hearted, smart, chock-full of fun and informative facts, a walking encyclopedia. With your family, we, his friends, are devastated by his loss. I know our Lord has welcomed him in Heaven and I take comfort in reciting a prayer Brian taught me; the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. It’s not going to be the same without Brian around. Sad day.

Brian lived right next door when we moved to MS in 1999. Just the greatest neighbor but an even better person. We'd be out working in our yards, then meet at the fence and start talking, usually about sports. Always genuinely asked how my wife MaryJo and my two daughters were doing. He was such a friendly and interesting guy, and so likeable to everyone he met. My condolences to Brian's family. We will greatly miss him.

My thoughts and prayers are with Brian's beloved family. He was truly everything they said about him. I meet Brian in church at Mass in OLPH many years ago and sat next to him at mass each Sunday. The last time I saw him was 2 weeks ago. We aways talked after Mass about his family and mine and sports. My daughters were friendly with John and Marie having gone to school with them. I knew all about his "Ponies' and his career in the casinos, and we would always discuss our Phillies and Eagles. He loved sports and when he found out that my great grandson played and loved baseball, the Phillies and the Eagles he would bring articles, of both these teams to give to Aiden!! Brian was a true gentleman and on of t he kindest men I have known.
God loved Brian also, he just took him too soon. Sincerely, Ellen

Brian and I carpooled and dealt craps together at the Claridge in the early 80s. He had a very dry yet extremely funny sense of humor. He was always a pleasure to be around. RIP Brian.

Uncle Brian, the best uncle ever! Never missed our family get togethers, always brought something, always interested in what was going on in our lives, always had a smile. His stories were fascinating and he had a great sense of humor. I want to thank everybody for their condolences to our family, we greatly appreciate it!!! I love you, Uncle Brian!!! RIP

I am heartbroken to be writing this.
Brian was my good neighbor for 20 years.
He was always respectful and courteous, always remembering to ask me about what was going on in my life. We went to a few Eagles and Phillies games together over the years. We shared a few mutual acquaintances from his gaming years.
I'm glad if he had to go now that he went fast. Our neighborhood has lost many people in my 20 years on Crawford Ave. But none as impactful to me as the loss of Brian.

Brian was a special person and dedicated friend. Brian and I shared a passion for thoroughbred horse racing . May he RIP in heavenly eternity.

Brian was my neighbor at Crawford Ave, Maple Shade for my entire life; we always had so much fun having BBQs and hanging out on the deck! We loved talking sports & he always had the BEST recommendations for new places to go out to eat in Philly!! He will be so missed!!

We are at a loss for what to say to his family. We are all blessed that Brian was such a devoted friend to those of us he loved. Rest in peace dear Pal.

Mr. Leahy was a wonderful man. We loved talking Philly sports with him and creating memories together that we will cherish always. The entire Schaller family will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.
